Stephen Downes is the Founder and Managing Broker of Eco Luxe Realty, a boutique real estate brokerage specializing in luxury, waterfront, lifestyle, and sustainable real estate throughout Sarasota, Manatee County, and Central Florida. Combining more than a decade of real estate experience with a distinguished career in engineering, Stephen brings a unique perspective to helping buyers, sellers, and investors make informed real estate decisions.

As a licensed Real Estate Broker, Professional Engineer (PE), Certified Energy Manager (CEM), and LEED Accredited Professional, Stephen is uniquely qualified to evaluate both the financial and environmental aspects of real estate. His passion for sustainability and responsible development inspired the creation of Eco Luxe Realty—a brokerage founded on the belief that exceptional real estate service and environmental stewardship can work hand in hand.

Prior to launching Eco Luxe Realty, Stephen spent over 15 years leading complex engineering, infrastructure, and business development projects for Fortune 500 companies and nationally recognized consulting firms. His background in environmental and ecological engineering provides clients with an uncommon level of expertise regarding building performance, energy efficiency, resiliency, and long-term property value. Since entering the real estate industry, Stephen and his team have successfully facilitated more than $150+ million in residential real estate transactions. Known for his professionalism, strategic negotiation skills, market knowledge, and client-first approach, he has earned a reputation for delivering exceptional results while creating lasting relationships.

A graduate of the University of Florida, Stephen holds a Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Engineering with a minor in Ecological Engineering. He remains actively involved in the Realtor Association of Sarasota and Manatee (RASM).

A Florida resident for most of his life, Stephen has lived throughout South Florida, Orlando, Tampa, and now proudly calls Lakewood Ranch home, where he has resided since 2013. His extensive knowledge of Florida's diverse markets allows him to provide valuable insight to both local and relocating clients.

Outside of real estate, Stephen enjoys traveling, fitness, boating, exploring new cultures, and spending time with his family. As a proud father of three daughters, he understands that buying or selling a home is more than a transaction—it's about creating the next chapter of life.
